Cliffs of the Neuse Overnighter

Destination: Cliffs of the Neuse State Park (park details, driving directions, topographic map, weather forecast)
Departing: Greystone Baptist Church parking lot promptly at 7am, on Saturday, November 20th, 2004
Returning: Greystone Baptist Church parking lot around 2pm, on Sunday, November 21st, 2004
Activities: Light hiking, overnight camping, orienteering, fire building, extensive camp cooking, rope and knot skills
Cost: $15 per person

Pre-Trip Checklist

In preparation for this trip, please follow this checklist:

  1. Confirm your attendance with the Scoutmasters
  2. Complete, with your parent or guardian, an emergency medical treatment form, if you have not completed one or if your current one is more than one year old
  3. Have your parent or guardian sign the permission slip
  4. No later than 15-November-2004, turn in your emergency medical treatment form (if applicable), signed permission slip, and the activity fee
  5. Pack your gear for a 3-day camping trip, including food.
    • You do not need to pack your backpack; instead, a duffle bag lined with a garbage bag will work perfectly.
    • The Troop will provide each patrol with enough tents; each member (or the Patrol as a whole) must pack everything else.
    • The activities this weekend will absolutely require you to bring compass, practice ropes, and mess kit.
    • Remember you will need to have a Patrol-wide meal plan in place for 6 meals (Dinner Friday; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Saturday; Breakfast and Lunch Sunday).
